The 25th November each year marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women & Girls. This kicks off the annual #16Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, which runs from 25 November up to International Human Rights Day on 10 December; this year’s global theme is “UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”.

This coincides with White Ribbon Day; White Ribbon is the Uk’s leading charity engaging men and boys to end violence against women and girls. Their work is preventative and this year they are calling on males to #changethestory by challenging the seemingly ‘harmless’ attitudes and behaviours that perpetuate violence for women and girls.
