Eva Peer Support Group

Eva Peer Support Group is a friendly and informal support group for women whose lives have been affected by abuse. The group is a safe place where they can spend time with others who have shared similar experiences, join in with the crafts activities, get some advice from a support worker or just have a cup of tea and a chat.

  • Crafts and seasonal activities
  • Short individual sessions with support workers
  • Tea, coffee, juice and snacks
  • Friendly support from the group

Women tell us that being in a group can have really positive outcomes after feeling very isolated in their experiences of abuse. Eva Support Group can offer an enjoyable morning for women who are building their confidence and taking steps to move on with their lives.

Normally, the Eva group meets 10am – 12.30pm fortnightly in term time.

Our peer support includes:

  • Regular social groups
  • Creative Writing sessions
  • Weekly “Walk & Talk” opportunities

Sheffield Star Interview:

One of our Eva service users volunteered to be interviewed in The Sheffield Star newspaper about her experiences of domestic abuse: “A year ago I started going to the women’s group, Eva. It supports women who have been through domestic abuse and it’s fabulous. I can remember not wanting to go through the door as my confidence was so low. Now, I’m the first one there!”
