Eva Therapy Service Referrals Are Currently CLOSED
The Covid 19 pandemic caused many services – including Vida – to change how they work. We appreciate that this was a very uncertain time for many people, and was even more challenging for those recovering from domestic abuse.
Our therapists continued to support existing clients through phone and video 1:1 sessions and were aware of the great need for support.
We created a page of self-help resources especially for that period and these are still available to anyone who needs them to help themselves from home. Please use and share these resources with anyone who needs them.
The Sheffield Domestic Abuse Helpline is still available – along with live webchat at IDAS
IDAS also provided some very useful documents for anyone affected by domestic abuse at this time. You can download them below:
Vida’s Clinical Manager, Jane McClaren is providing a series of short videos to help people during the crisis. Here is Jane’s first video, discussing Uncertainty & Worry:

It can be useful to learn to manage our uncertainty, as we are thrown into a completely new situation and are isolated from our normal support networks. Focusing on the things we can control – rather than what we can’t control – can help us all manage the uncertainty.
This image shows an outer wheel of things we can’t control and an inner wheel of things we can control.
Can you make your own image, identifying the things you can control at this time (and are therefore worth focusing on) and the things you can’t control at present (and may feel better for letting go)?
If you are working from home at present, here are Vida’s Tips for Keeping Well and Working from Home. This document contains useful advice on how to look after your physical and mental health during the lockdown.
