A new Emergency Alerts system is being rolled out by the Government and a test alert will be sent early this year.
The alerts (through mobile phones) will be used to let you know about emergency situations (like severe flooding) and the alerts will be accompanied by a loud sound even if your phone is on silent.
If you are a #domesticabuse survivor with a second phone that you have hidden from your partner then you may need to turn the alerts off to stay safe.
