Team Vida's Everest Challenge

Our latest fundraising challenge is to face our fears and climb the equivalent of Mt. Everest, that’s 8,849 metres over 12 months!

We launched our fundraising challenge on 29th May 2022 at Stanage Edge, in the Peak District.

We completed our challenge on the 70th Anniversary of the first ascent of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing who first reached the summit of Mt. Everest on 29th May 1953.

WE DID IT!!! On Monday 29th May 2023 we undertook our final climb of the challenge which came in at 3,294m which means our total is a staggering 8,899m so we’ve smashed our target of the Everest elevation of 8,849m! Congratulations to all our climbers and thank you so much to everyone involved-this was a real team effort over an entire year!

However, we still need your help!!!

Please help us reach our fundraising target of £8,849 in order to continue to support women’s recovery from abuse.

Please support us by donating at  https://localgiving.org/fundraising/TeamVidaClimbsEverest/

Could you ask your employer to match fund or support us? Please get in touch if you can help!

Any donation is much appreciated and will go directly into funding our therapeutic services.

5th March 2023   We are now on an eye-watering 5606m! We are much closer to achieving the 8,849 metres since holding our latest climb at Depot Climbing! Thank you to all at the venue that supported us for free – there were so many of you enjoying the ‘bouldering’ experience, it was amazing to see!

5th Feb 2023   A great team effort today! It was wonderful to see some new recruits getting stuck in for our stint at Depot Climbing!

10th Dec 2022   Thank you to our usual climbing crew and the Medics Hockey Team who’ve all managed to achieve 3,338m at Awesome Walls!

25th Sept 2022    What a fantastic effort from our climbers who between them managed a whopping 2,070m! This means that to date we are just over a quarter of the way to our target of the Everest elevation of 8,849m!  A big thank you to climbers – both novice and experienced – and all our supporters!

29th May 2022    Jane, Gemma and Tanya got us going with the help of Rob at Essential Climbing & Phil and we have a full 12 months to raise at least £8,849 – that’s £1 per metre of the ascent of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing.

Any donation is much appreciated and will go directly into funding our therapeutic services. For further info or if you would like to help then please call Vida on 0114 275 0101
